Pairs Well With

Makes 2 Bundt Cakes


5 oz golden raisins

1.5 oz candied orange peel presoaked in rum

2 cups flour

5 ½ T sugar

¾ stick butter

2 t salt

3 eggs

1 t vanilla

1 cup whole milk

1 oz yeast


Place all ingredients, except for the raisins and orange peel, into a mixing bowl and stir until the texture is smooth. Add the fruit to the bowl and stir until combined. Let the dough rest for at least 15-20 minutes so it can rise. Divide the dough in two and place into two well-buttered Bundt pans. Let the dough rest at room temperature for an hour. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 35 minutes.

Editor’s note: make sure the butter and eggs are room temperature before adding. The milk should be near room temperature as well in order to encourage the dough to rise.
