Morris Fay Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
A Pedroncelli grape source for four decades, this family-owned
(since the 1890s), vineyard in northwest Alexander Valley produces
rich, full flavored Cabernets with cassis, cedar and mint character.
Pedroni-Bushnell Vineyard Zinfandel
Located on the eastern bench of Dry Creek Valley, the 20-acre Pedroni-Bushnell
Vineyard has been closely associated with the Pedroncellis for
over 50 years. Winery founder John Sr. purchased the property
(with Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Carignane planted) in 1945.
The vineyard was passed along to son-in-law Al Pedroni in the
1950's. Al's daughter Carol Bushnell inherited the vineyard in
1990 and she and her husband Jim tend the vineyard.
Frank Johnson Vineyard Chardonnay & Pinot Noir
Situated along the southern boundary of Dry Creek Valley, near
the confluence of Dry Creek and the Russian River, this family-owned
vineyard has provided Pinot Noir grapes to Pedroncelli for two
decades. The location's cool microclimate and well-drained soils
consistently produce Pinot Noir of uncommon finesse, depth and
complexity.
Mother Clone Zinfandel
Some of the vines contributing to this wine were planted around
the turn of the 20th century on the Pedroncelli Home Ranch. The
newer plantings were propagated (cloned) from those venerable
survivors. This unusually concentrated Zinfandel highlights ripe
blackberry and spice notes.
Three Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
As the name indicates, three vineyards provided fruit for this
blend: Wolff Vineyard (hillside); two Pedroncelli blocks on Dry
Creek Road: East Side Vineyards and West Side Vineyard. A blend
also of three varietals including Cabernet, Cabernet Franc and
Merlot. Typical characteristics feature earthy currant, ripe
berry and a slightly spicy touch in nose and flavors.
Bench Vineyards Merlot
The name of these vineyards describes the natural terraces flanking
the (Dry Creek)valley floor and rising gradually (2-9%) into
the hills. The two blocks used for this Merlot are from adjacent
vineyards - Pedroncelli and Long - and produce a lush and smooth
wine with black cherry, berry and spicy pepper aromas and flavors.
Alto Vineyard Sangiovese
This Italian varietal grows on terraced estate hillsides just west
of the winery. With the well-drained soils of these hills and
the unique micro-climate, the location suits Sangiovese well.
The wine is redolent of cranberry, leather and spice aromas,
all blending nicely on the palate.
Family Vineyards Petite Sirah
This richly flavored grape has been grown in the area for over
100 years. Pedroncelli's estate vineyard was planted in 1990
and thrives on a hillside west of the winery. The "Family" connection
is the Pedroni-Bushnell vineyard, a source of zinfandel but also
Petite Sirah and grown by niece Carol Bushnell. Full flavors
of black cherry, ripe blackberry and black pepper are at the
heart of this full-bodied red wine.
East Side Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc is considered one of Dry Creek Valley's hallmark
varietals. East Side refers to vineyards planted along Dry Creek
where the vines on this side of the valley receive the full influence
of sun with a balance of cool nights to maintain balance in the
wine. Grapefruit, peach, and a hint of herbs outline the aroma
and flavors-crisp and full textured on the finish.
