Grilled Tri-Tip Steak with Herb Butter

  • 2 pounds tri-tip steak
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, and parsley), chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto
  • Creamy polenta

Preparation

  • Season the tri-tip steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, chopped fresh herbs, and minced garlic to make the herb butter. Set aside.
  • Grill the tri-tip steak for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until medium-rare. Adjust the cooking time based on your desired doneness.
  • Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  • Slice the steak against the grain and serve with a dollop of herb butter on top.
  • Serve with grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and creamy polenta on the side.
