We have always loved this version of Sloppy Joe's--and so did our kids.
1 ¼ lb lean ground turkey
1 T olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 14 ½ oz can tomato sauce
1 T chili powder (or more—to your taste)
1 T yellow mustard
1 T Worcestershire sauce
Whole wheat hamburger buns
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Pour in olive oil, heat to shimmering, add onion. Sauté until golden, 5-8 minutes. Add ground turkey and sauté until done. Pour in tomato sauce, rinsing can and pouring about a third of a can of water into mix. Add chili powder, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Lower heat and bring to a simmer for 20-25 minutes. Split buns, top with Sloppy Tom mix and sprinkle shredded cheese over all.
