Joe’s Chili-spiced burgers

Pairs Well With

Ingredients

1 ¼ lb lean hamburger
1 T chili powder
1 t ground cumin
½ t garlic powder
1-2 sprinkles of cayenne—very light
Salt & Pepper to taste.

Preparation

Place hamburger in medium bowl and sprinkle spices over all. Combine with hands until incorporated. Make patties, seal edges, try not to handle the meat too much. You will get 4-5 patties. Heat grill to medium high.   Place on grill and turn after 3-4 minutes and grill for another 3-4 until still tender but pink in side. For extra zip, place a slice of Pepper Jack on top just before removing from grill. Use whole wheat buns or just your regular sesame seeded or Kaiser buns. Add your favorite condiments—avocado would be tasty too.
